ADD, Behavioral Disorders, Depression and Bipolar Disorder Can Frequently Be Treated Well Without Drugs

90% of all attention deficit medications(close relatives to speed and cocaine)are prescribed in the United States. A combination of cultural expectations and the current nutritional patterns common to most Americans contribute to this problem. The Standard American Diet (SAD) is deficient in fatty acids essential for neuroendocrine function and brain development. I have measured fatty acid, B complex, amino acid profiles and organic acid profiles and found a consistent correlation between nutritional insufficiencies and behavioral/emotional disorders. After specific supplementation with the appropriate nutrients, and implementation of stress reduction techniques, 90% of my patients have improved beyond what medication could achieve. They have gone on to safely taper off of their psychotropic drugs.

My work is done safely, slowly and in conjunction with the health care professionals originally prescribing medication and treatment. The results are outstanding. Indeed, the literature supports the correlation between these nutritional insufficiencies and behavioral disorders. We call them insufficiencies rather than deficiencies because individuals differ in the amount of nutrients needed. People prone to depression for example, seem to need profoundly more B12, B6 and Folate than the RDA suggests. We can measure the amount of nutrients you require and perhaps get to the root of a life long battle with emotional imbalance and behavioral problems. Treating the underlying imbalance is often far more effective than masking the symptoms with medication alone.
